Chalk Furniture Paint Workshop

Come and learn everything there is to know about Blake & Taylor Chalk Furniture Paint. Join us for a few hours of fun experimenting with different Chalk Paint techniques and colours.
This is a beginners class so no previous painting skills are needed. There is minimal preparation required before using our paint. It is 100% made in Australia just for Blake & Taylor, washes up in water and is so easy to use. We provide all the materials and tuition you simply need to bring along a piece that you would like to paint which is no larger than a dining chair.
You will be able to experiment with all of the colours, our whitewash, waxes and Clear Top Coat with different paint finishes and techniques. Our paint is truly addictive and you will want to just paint more and more once you try it. Learn about all the different surfaces that can be transformed with our fabulous paint, you can even use it on fabric. Students also receive 10% discount on paint products purchased from this workshop on the day. Our paint is 100% Australian made and we love it – we know you will too!
We’ll even spoil you by serving delicious morning tea while you paint and create in our beautiful air conditioned Workshop Space.
Screen Printing Half Day Workshop
FRIDAY, 11 MARCH 2022, 10:00-13:00
Learn a new skill in this great printing workshop. You’ll be shown how to screen print onto fabric using the selection of Blake & Taylor pre-cut stencils. Printing in one colour way onto a choice of different fabrics. Choose from either simple, yet beautiful plain linen in a choice of natural colours, or opt for a cotton coloured stripe fabric to overlay your design.
This workshop includes tuition, all inks, fabric, delicious B&T morning tea and all materials. Additional fabric for extra designs can be purchased on the day.
Beginners Indigo Shibori Workshop
FRIDAY, 18 MARCH 2022, 10:00-13:00
This is such an inspiring workshop. Come and learn the art of dyeing in an Indigo Vat. You will learn a Japanese method of stitching and folding called, Shibori, which you can make great patterns on your 2 metre piece of linen fabric supplied. Learn also many different types of resist methods with our large variety of wood blocks, clamps, tubes, string, nails and more.
You get to go home with your finished piece of linen that you have uniquely designed and dyed. We also have available other blank items to purchase should you wish to create more pieces. Items such as, linen tea towels, linen cushion covers, tote bags and more.
All materials are supplied including a delicious morning tea.
Oval Shade Workshop
FRIDAY, 25 MARCH 2022, 10:00-13:00
Learn how to make an oval shaped shade in this great creative workshop. Size – 30cm length, 22cm height. We will provide all equipment for this workshop, you will only be required to bring your own choice of fabric.
Morning tea is also provided.
If you choose a plain fabric you will need to bring 1/2 metre. If you choose a patterned fabric you will need to bring 1 metre. This is based on a 140cm wide fabric.
NOTE – DRESS MAKING FABRICS OR ANY FABRICS WITH STRETCH IN THEM ARE NOT SUITABLE TO USE IN THIS WORKSHOP.
